The basic premise of the card game is to be assigned cards adding up to twenty-one. Each gambler is handed 2 cards. When a gambler is dealt a 9 or less and an Ace they have been given a soft hand. When the player is dealt no Ace cards it is called as a hard hand. Once the cards have been given to all players at the blackjack table, which includes the dealer, each blackjack player is given the chance to make 1 of six choices:
Taking another card (Hit): When a player announces hit me the dealer will deal them another card, if the addition of that card causes the total greater than 21 the player will have lost and be excluded from the game, if the card pushes the value of the hand to twenty-one the black jack player will be the winner and if the total has not yet reached twenty one they’re still in the game.
Keeping the hand you’ve been dealt: If a player is satisfied with the cards they’ll hold. Once this has happened the dealer will show his or her hand and the gambler who has accumulated twenty one or the nearest to twenty one will come away with a win.
Doubling Down: A blackjack player may request to double down which increases the wager by 100% they have made. As soon as you’ve taken this action you can only be given one more card. The specifics of doubling down are usually out lined by the table or betting house rules so prior to playing make sure you’re familiar with the house established rules. If you are competing at a web-based betting house this is usually very simple.
